'Fenrir' - Original Wolf Acrylic Painting - 61 x 91 cm

An original acrylic painting featuring a wolf against a frosty background.

This wolf was originally painted in colourful surroundings in an explosion of colour. I love the wolf, but I wasn’t entirely sure he was in the right environment. I had a lobging to create a frosty snowy-looking background for him. So I took him back to the studio last week, on a lovely Autumn day that was more like Summer, and I added two more layers. The paint is gently translucent and the result is a soft, snowy effect, through which you can still see some of the earlier layers.

I have used a gently metallic glaze in some areas to diffuse the light and add to the atmospheric finish

Unframed, with painted sides, this painting is ready to hang as is or can be framed in a slim float frame upon request
