This new original oil painting is full of texture and movement. The sturdily appealing Highland Cow peers from a tangle of wildflower seeds and late-summer foliage. There are clumps of cow parsley, and the suggestion of teazels and seedpods here and there, gleaming in the hazy sunshine.
The cow regards us with gentle good-humour, her hair tossed onto her forehead in a mop of gold and russet red. The predominant colour in this piece is a misty sage green with touches of lilac and warm burgundy here and there.
